Folgefonna

Folgefonna is the third biggest glacier in Norway and is situated in the western part of Norway, in the county Hordaland. With fjords, mountains, waterfalls, rivers and lakes is Folgefonna Nationalpark one of the most important tourist destinations in Norway. For trekking there are possibilities for daytrips or stay at one of the mountain lodges. The glacier is known for spectacular skitours in the springtime. There are several routes to criss-cross the glacier. In the summer there are guided trips. It is also nice to go skiing during the winter.

For information about routes and trips on the glacier, contact the local mountain assocciation, Bergen Turlag. Special equipment and knowledge is required for trips on the glacier.

Rosendal - Baroniet

Baroniet Rosendal is one of the most important museums found in Western Norway. Being situated “at the entrance of the Hardangerfjord”, this castle is the only barional manor in Norway. Today the castle is a well known museum for “the Danish period” in the Norwegian history. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful landscape parks.

Transport

By car: About 350-400 km from Oslo, 6-7 hours drive.
By bus: Haukeliekspressen(www.nbe.no) to Odda, local bus or taxi to the starting point of the tour.
