Falketind
This is a quite known 2000 m - peak in Jotunheimen, which you will see from many places around. This is a middle-advanced tour where a glacier has to be crossed to reach the summit.
Geography
Falketind is situated south-east in the Nationalpark of Jotunheimen. The closest staffed mountain lodge is Fondsbu.
How to get there
By car: From Oslo it takes about 5 drive. Take E16 to Fagernes, continue direction Bergen to Tyinkrysset. Take off to the mountain road direction Eidsbugarden. Right before Tyinstølen Hotel take a small, almost unaccesible road in to Koldedalen. Drive to the very end, here is possible for camping.
By public transport: It is not possible to get in to Koldedalen by public transport.
Loding
Natural camping. It is a good ground for setting up the tent. Drinkingwater in the river just nearby.

Tour description (~6-8 hours)
We chose the most common route to Falketind (2068 m). The track is not well marked, but there is a small path. The first part leads trough a valley (Morka-Koldedalen), which has too many stones! You have to pass almost two lakes. By "Andrevatnet" follow on the left hand side of the river upwards. A part could be quite slippy if its weat, climbing equipment will probably be necessary. The next part is to cross the glacier, where right equipment is necessary. After crossing the glacier, there is a short climp up to the top.
Tip: The mountain lodge, Fondsbu, arrange guided tours to Falketind in the summer.
