The mountain lodge, Spiterstulen is an excellent place to stay for climbing peaks. In this area are several peaks over 2000 m and the highest peaks in Norway, Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind. This is an eldorado for mountain climbers and glacier enthusiasts. It is possible to join guided glacier trips from Spiterstulen if you don't have the knowledge to go on your own.

Tour description

Via Svellnosglacier up to Galdhøpiggen (~10 h.)

Follow the marked track up to "Eventyrisen" (the glacier of fairy-tale). It takes about two hours walk up to the starting point. We crossed the glacier with rope and crampons techniques. To get to the top we climbed up a steep ridge between "Keilhaus topp" and Galdhøpiggen. We walked in fresh snow and ice axes was necessary. Phantastic view in sunset from Norway highest peak (2469 m). A long trip on the marked track back to Spiterstulen. Unfortunately we were too late for the great dinner!

Take a look at the pictures, that tells every thing about the perfect day....
